USB-C to 4-PortUSB 3.0 Hub
A compact 85 × 40 mm USB-C to 4-port USB-A 3.0 SuperSpeed hub built around signal-integrity-aware, high-speed digital layout — 5 Gbps differential-pair routing, USB-C orientation handling and a controlled-impedance 6-layer stackup in Altium Designer.
What was built

Designed the complete schematic architecture — USB-C upstream port through a USB 3.0 hub controller into four downstream USB-A SuperSpeed ports — with orientation/mux circuitry and per-port power switching.

Defined a 6-layer stackup with dedicated GND reference planes and created controlled-impedance routing rules for 90 Ω USB SuperSpeed differential pairs.

Routed USB 3.0 SuperSpeed TX/RX pairs with attention to impedance control, symmetry, via minimisation and length matching, and matched USB 2.0 D+/D− pairs within required tolerance.

Designed the multi-rail power system — VBUS input, 3.3V main rail, 1.1V core rail and protected USB-A VBUS outputs — with ESD protection placed close to the USB-C and USB-A connector interfaces.

Implemented port power enable/fault routing, decoupling and crystal circuitry, then performed iterative DRC cleanup for clearance, solder-mask, silkscreen and matched-length violations.
