Buck-Boost PowerModule Board
A compact 4-layer adjustable buck-boost DC-DC power module built around the LTC3780 controller — converting a 6–18 V input into a regulated 3.3–12 V output at roughly 1 A continuous for embedded systems, sensors and prototype electronics.
What was built

Designed the complete schematic and a 65 × 45 mm 4-layer PCB in Altium Designer, organised around the LTC3780 buck-boost controller with clean power, control and protection sections.

Implemented a four-switch synchronous buck-boost power stage using external MOSFETs, a shielded inductor and current sensing — holding a steady output as the input crosses above and below the target voltage.

Built an adjustable feedback network with a 200 kΩ multi-turn potentiometer for fine output-voltage control, plus bulk and ceramic input/output filtering to improve stability and reduce ripple.

Added robust input protection — resettable fuse, TVS diode, reverse-polarity MOSFET and zener gate clamping — to guard the board against faults, surges and transients.

Used dual internal ground planes, wide power routing and GND stitching vias, isolating sensitive feedback traces from noisy switching nodes; completed full ERC/DRC cleanup with schematic, layout and 3D render views.
